I Pick Up Pennies

I pick up pennies.

Always have. Always will.
They just look so sad if you leave them behind.

I get it. They're "quote-end-quote" worthless.
I know people who throw them away, like...in the trash.
Drives me crazy.

And some people think we should get rid of the penny.

ummmm...

"A Penny for your thoughts?"
"Here's my two cents."
"Find a Penny pick it up. All day long you'll have good luck."

Then what?
Then one day the nickel is no longer needed?

Okay, I'm being dramatic... and a tad silly.
But you see, tonight I was filling this baby bottle with all my spare change for the Parkville Women's Clinic and then I will turn it back in at church. I rarely carry cash with me anymore, so I don't have a lot of change from that, but I do pick up a lot of change off the ground and put it in a jar in my room. And there, as I saw all my pennies together, they seemed to have some value to me. It may be very small...THE SMALLEST...but it's still a value.

Now here's the kicker.

I filled the bottle. Put the lid on and then read the label on the side of the bottle:
"An unborn baby has little feet and toes the exact size and shape of the above image just 10-weeks after conception!"

The feet are smaller than a penny!
So, so tiny. And yet, a priceless value.
Thought to be a "throw-away" by too many people. Yet...
A life. A treasure.

So, I type this out and I share this with you because, yes, I am pro-life. I believe that life begins at conception and that ending that life is wrong. Very wrong. And my heart aches...deeply...for the blood that is on our hands. For the lives stripped away.

I also share this with you because you, you are a life. You were created. You have value. You feel small...you are small. We are all small in comparison to the vast galaxies, but you are a treasure. You were made in His image. You have a purpose and a destiny for such a time as this. Turn to Him. Stop filling you life with empty nothings of this world. You are His beloved.

He sees you.
He sees your worth.
He won't pass you by.
He picks you up.

Baby Bottle Campaign

Baby Bottle Campaigns
Yield Big Rewards
One of the easiest ways to support Parkville Women’s Clinic is through a baby bottle campaign. Simply collecting change (cash and checks too!) in a baby bottle bank provides a great way for everyone to give and serves as a visual reminder to pray for our ministry.
One friend of the ministry asked her Sunday school class to help and much to her surprise, they collected nearly $2,000!
Baby bottle campaigns can be one family or an entire congregation and can be conducted any time during the year. The clinic provides the instruction sheets and bottles - all you do is distribute and collect. Consider asking your youth, small group, church or neighbors to join you in collecting donations to save lives!
